Bunte Wettbewerber gibt es außerdem von Van der Led. Die Modelle mit dem ungewöhnlichen Namen Jisus mit 8,9 Zoll großem Bildschirm basieren auf einer ähnlichen Ausstattung wie der ursprüngliche Eee PC. Im Onlineshop des Herstellers können die niedlichen Laptops für 299,95 Euro in grün und weiß bestellt werden.
Konkurrenz vom "jupiter"
Auch Fukatos kleines Linux-Notebook trägt einen besonderen Namen: jupiter 0817a. Das 8-Zoll-Modell mit 20 GB Speicherplatz und 512 MB Arbeitsspeicher soll ab Ende Mai für 279 Euro über die Ladentheke wandern. Den Takt gibt hier ein Prozessor an, der einem bei der Eee-Konkurrenz bislang nicht über den Weg gelaufen ist: ein AMD Geode LX 800 mit 500 MHz. Weitere Konkurrenz liefern E-Lead mit dem Noahpad UMPC und Belinea mit dem s.book1. Darüber hinaus bläst dem kleinen und günstigen Eee Wind von MSI entgegen und eine Wolke namens CloudBook Max von Everex zieht auf. Neue Modelle soll es zum Beispiel auch von InkMedia, 3K Computers, Medion und Dell geben. Zu den beiden letztgenannten sind jedoch bislang noch keine genauen Daten und Termine bekannt.
